Belated Cinchday

How many plastic bags do you think you’ve used in your lifetime to date? How much water have you allowed to flow down the drain unused? How many kilometers have you driven by yourself?

I think the answer to each of these questions is a fucking lot and frankly I’m sick of it. I’m sick of seeing people consume without any connection to the waste. I’m sick of people driving to the local market instead of walking. I’m sick of the over packaging of everything. And most importanly, the earth is sick of all of this too.

In the last few months i’ve made some simple changes to my life that are going to lower my carbon emissions and save me money.

1. I’ve switched almost all of the bulbs in my home to compact flourescent
2. I refuse a plastic bag when I buy something
3. I’m taking shorter showers (this one’s tough for me)
4. I use natural light instead of artificial light whenever possible
5. I try to buy Canadian made products whenever they’re available
6. I almost NEVER find myself in a car (since I don’t have a license)
7. I always finish what’s on my plate

All of these changes are extremely simple and easy, so why don’t you try them yourself. Your children will thank you one day, when they can still breath clean air.
