It’s been ages since I’ve shared my thoughts here. I moved at the start of this month and have busy putting my new place together. Unfortunately the blog fell further and further down my list of things to do. Although I’ve been constantly thinking about posts these past few weeks….

So without further adieu…

Yesterday was an exciting day for the entire dank crew. Our E-town rep Dane has been working double time promoting the label in his hometown and his hard work payed off big time when he helped us secure an hour long radio special on the label with CJSR of Edmonton. Jon Huck is the host of the show named Clocks & Clouds (visit the blog) and our boy Pickls? ran into Jon at Mutek in Montreal this year. They started chatting and Jon graciously invited us to come on his radio show. Jon devoted most of the hour to our music and after some very slight technical problems we did an interview with Sidetrack, Pickls?, and I. I had a blast chatting about the label with Jon and he asked us some great questions. Thanks again Jon!! Dane recorded the entire show and we will post it up here in the next few days.

As I said I’ve moved into a new apartment in Kitsilano. I used to live out in the sticks of North Burnaby and felt like I needed a change, Sidetrack’s lease ran out last month so we decided to be roomies. There is absolutely no way you can say that without people instantly accusing you of engaging in steamy butt sex. ha. Anyways, we’ve got a seriously pimp pad now and the best thing is that Sidetrack and I can practice and produce the Inkwell stuff any time of the week. A couple days ago for a change of pace I went solo with the Live PA setup that Sidetrack and I built and recorded and hour long mix of my own design. I wanted to explore some of the dubby aspects of techno. A focus on subtly and smoothness was another element that I feel I need to practice. Basically I’m just trying to get to know the set a bit better.

Ok, so as I was working on this post we received an email from Farshad aka DJ abasi , he works with the Intimate Production guys who throw the Lotus Long Weekend parties in the city. We’ve been offered the entire lick room for the next long weekend party on Sunday September 2nd. Here’s the preliminary line-up for the night:

• 10:00 – 11:30 For a Fee DJ set (Danksoul)
• 11:30 – 12:00 Three Legion of Doom DJ set (Danksoul)
• 12:00 – 1:30 Hrdvsion Live Performance (Wagon Repair)
• 1:30 – 3:00 Inkwell Live Performance (Danksoul)

Pre-sale Ticket’s will be available at Boomtown and Beatstreet (among other record stores)

I couldn’t be more excited about this show since it’s such a huge opportunity for us to showcase our newest hottest material.
