Firstly, I want to speak about the tree hugging rant I posted last week. I think I let the power of having an omnipotent unanswerable voice go to my head. I really don’t want this blog to be a place for that sort of thing and frankly, there are enough 14 year old emo kids blogging about the environment to satisfy anyone’s craving for pessimism. So I guess I’ll leave it to them.

Well with that out of the way…

Let’s talk about art.

I’m keen on generative video production and specifically audio responsive visuals. At the last Lotus Long Weekend Inkwell was fortunate enough to have pixel shift performing some improvised imagery to our music. His performance got me thinking about what could be done with *multi*media. I’ve always been a photographer as well as a video editor so the progression to coding visualizations was quite natural for me.

Once i figure out how to record video, i’ll post some video clips so you can see how each of the algorithms responds to musical input.
